BLS Moves Around Jobs Data, Confusion Ensues
1 Minute Market Rundown
-
US Bureau of Labour statistics announced yesterday that there will be no jobs figures for October, although we get September data today.
-
NVIDIA earnings beat expectations, easing concerns about an AI bubble.
-
Markets otherwise quiet as we await jobs data.
USD-
These US Government shutdowns are a real carry on, we're only getting Septembers jobs figures today and we won't even get the data for October, because it wasn't collected!
Chaos, really, todays figures are likely to pass without much volatility, given they are two months old at this point, we'll also have to wait to the 16th for November jobs data, when many traders are already home for Christmas.

Outside of FX, NVIDA brushed aside its expectations to keep hopes high that AI will be the future, or at the very least, that the bubble won't burst yet. NVIDIA has obtained such a level of cultural and capital currency that this is almost a macro event.
