USD

USD firmed up on Friday following the healthiest jobs added figure for months, alongside unemployment remaining unchanged at 4.1%. This was the best figure since March, just the first month of the war and figures since have likely taken a downwards trend owing to companies dealing with higher input costs by holding off on new hires.

Whether that feeling is changing or whether firms simply cannot hold off anymore on recruitment is a question that remains to be answered.

Sadly, this week sees much less in terms of major releases, minus the exception of US CPI on Friday. Whether that inflation data continues to show a fall in US price pressures will have a serious impact on what the market expects of the Fed going forward.

For UK unemployment and CPI we will have to wait for next week, of course however, the Iran conflict remains the Elephant in the room and the lack of news surrounding that situation does not at all mean it has been resolved.
