The hottest honeymoon destinations in 2023

Wedding season is here, and for many people, getting too book a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon is a big part of the fun. We’ve chosen three of the hottest destinations for you and your new spouse to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Save - The Amalfi Coast

If you’re looking to get the best value for your money on your honeymoon, there are many beautiful destinations in Europe that pack a big punch. The Amalfi coast is famous for its romantic, winding roads, and a great destination all summer. Flights start from £78pp in May, although later in the summer they’ll get closer to £250pp.

If you’re looking for great value, Hotel Amalfi is it. This picturesque, family-owned hotel offers suites with its own private terrace and hot tub for only £2,400 for a week-long stay. Close to the town centre of Amalfi, you can easily get to the other towns on the coast.

While you could take the option of renting vespas and driving up and down the coast, the roads can be a little bit treacherous. A somewhat safer option can be to take the Sita bus to explore the Amalfi Coast Drive. All the stops along the route are worth exploring, but make sure to make time for the one fjord in Italy, Fiordo di Furore, accessible from Furore Bridge.

Make sure to also head to Sorrento for the iconic cliffside views. While there, you might as well take a pizza making workshop lead by a real pizzaiolo. And bonus – for the rest of the marriage, pizza night will be all the more special.

Spend - Los Cabos

If you’re looking to go outside Europe, Los Cabos offers an opportunity to see the best of Mexico in a tranquil environment. Getting here starts from £760 for return flights from London.

One of the best hotels in the area is the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal with rooms starting from £8,125 for a week-long stay in May. The rooms are luxuriously appointed with fresh fruit, drinks and snacks provided every day. The resort also has a spa, massage services and 3 restaurants that serve contemporary Mexican food with a particular focus on seafood.

With the amount of things you can experience in Mexico, why not kill two birds with one stone? Going for a camel ride that ends with a tequila tasting will let you experience the best of Mexican nature and drinking. Or, if you prefer the Baja California, go for a whale watching safari (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/AttractionProductReview-g152515-d17809733-Cabo_Group_Whale_Watching_Tour_Incl_FREE_photos_Whale_Sightings_Guarantee-Cabo_San.html).

Splurge - Seychelles

If you’re planning on making your honeymoon the trip of a lifetime, the North Island resort in the Seychelles offers a truly unique experience. This private island experience where Will and Kate famously stayed for their honeymoon starts from £7.5k per night in one of the private cabins, meaning a week long stay would start from £52,500. The good news? The flights over start from only £545pp.

The resort offers a fully bespoke experience, with service so unobtrusive you won’t even notice anyone else is there. You can also enjoy scuba diving, paddle boarding and snorkelling as well as sunset cruises, many of which are included in the price of the resort. And don’t be constrained by our suggestions – the resort offers a completely bespoke experience.

If you’d like to explore the rest of the island, you can choose to do so by walking, cycling or by boat. And don’t miss the wildlife refuge where you can see tortoises and other wild animals!
